Rob La Marca

I decided to apply for the Australian Post graduate program because I wanted to work for an iconic Australian business, which closely aligned with my goals of working in the international logistics industry.

Why did you decide to apply for the graduate program?

I decided to apply for the Australia Post graduate program because I wanted to work for an iconic Australian business, which closely aligned with my goals of working in the international logistics industry. Naturally, there are not many other companies that fit that brief, so Australia Post was the best fit for me. I was drawn to the opportunity to be able to complete rotations throughout completely different parts of the business.

What business units have you worked in / are you currently working in and where have you completed your rotations?

I have completed one year long rotation in Infrastructure and Automation, where I worked on Brisbane Parcel Facility, the largest parcel processing facility in the southern hemisphere.

What projects have you been a part of that you really enjoyed working on?

Working on BPF was an incredible opportunity afforded to me, straight out of uni, and gave me valuable experience in operations and project management, and gave me a solid understanding of the core functions of Australia Post. I am currently working in International Regulation, which has allowed me to use my studies in International Business and International Relations, assisting in representing Australia and Australia Post in the Universal Postal Union.

What do you like about working at Australia Post?

I like working for a nationally recognised business, one that has proved critically important during the COVID-19 crisis.

What skills have you developed through the graduate program?

I have become a lot more analytical in my current rotation, as I am working in the international legal area of the business. Previously, I have developed skills in operations, business case preparation, stakeholder communication and project management.
