In my time in the graduate program, Australia Post has undoubtedly delivered a diverse range of learning experiences that continue to challenge and push me to this day.

What's your background?

At 18, I was excited to explore a future blending creativity and problem solving, underpinned by a driving force to benefit the everyday experience of many.

This aspiration led me to many destinations. After embarking on a degree in media and journalism at RMIT, I landed in a video production role in a Melbourne advertising agency.

But journeys are rarely linear. I returned back to RMIT’s familiar grounds – this time for a Bachelor in Communication Design. I balanced part-time design study with industry experience, working at a tech start-up, social enterprise, boutique creative agency and a bank.

Why did you decide to apply for the graduate program?

My reason for choosing Australia Post was two-fold. Firstly, strong design leadership and a reputation that was respected by many designers I spoke with. Secondly, the opportunity to contribute to an essential service and Australian household brand.

In my time in the graduate program, Australia Post has undoubtedly delivered a diverse range of learning experiences that continue to challenge and push me to this day.

What business units have you worked in / are you currently working in and where have you completed your rotations?

I’ve designed digital experiences that are used by thousands of businesses across Australia. Facilitated workshops that imagine how artificial intelligence will impact the logistics industry. Conducted design research with familiar Australian brands such as Bunnings, The Iconic and Myer. Sorted parcels at the Sunshine Parcel Facility.

What projects have you been a part of that you really enjoyed working on?

I’ve loved my role as a Service Designer in the Product, Innovation and Engineering business unit. With project based work, every few months my feet land in a new facet of Australia Post. Using design thinking and co-design techniques, I investigate, collaborate, strategies and experiment to drive opportunities for a better future.

Beyond measure, my time at Australia Post has developed my ability to problem solve, adapt quickly, influence upwards, persevere continuously and build strong relationships.
