Career progression relies on business needs i.e. when another role opens up because someone leaves the company. However, with the business's current performance, promotion possibilities are scarce.

It feels like departments within Post are looking to promote graduates as quickly as they can - you learn skills quickly & promotion from within is the most common hiring method I have seen. To move up the ranks you just have to do your time, take an interest, and there will be plenty of opportunities if you show that initiative.
