What is the best thing about your job?
The best thing about my job is that no two days are the same – it’s such a dynamic environment. I love that every day I face different challenges and new learning curves that help me to grow and develop as a professional.
What has been challenging?
The most challenging aspect for me since leaving university and starting a new role has been finding my place within the business and learning to adjust to a new way of learning that’s more hands-on. But I think that this period of uncertainty also presents valuable learning opportunities.
How do you make your own impact?
Taking initiative and having a can-do attitude. It’s so important as a graduate to always showcase to your managers and mentors that you’re an eager learner and don’t mind taking a step out of your comfort zone.
What is the culture like at FTI Consulting?
The culture at FTI is fantastic. I’ve never felt more welcome and comfortable in a professional environment. My colleagues are so supportive and eager to help out, no matter the time of day.
What do you think of our Corporate Citizenship program (pro bono and volunteering opportunities)?
FTI’s dedication to their corporate citizenship program is remarkable, and they exhibit a level of proactivity that sets them apart from other organisations. There is lots of pro bono work happening behind the scenes, and volunteering opportunities are always available.
Have you volunteered yourself, and if so, what did you do?
I have participated in a few volunteering events since beginning at FTI. I have volunteered at the FareShare kitchen, the Salvation Army’s StreetLevel Mission, and also participated in the annual clean-up day that the company hosts in honour of Earth Day.
What advice would you give current students interested in working for FTI Consulting?
Showcase that you are adaptable and open to new learning opportunities. FTI is a fast-paced and dynamic company, so the ability to adapt to this type of environment and the eagerness to continuously learn and develop new skills are highly valued traits.
