Kristina Lane

I work on a pitchbook for a potential client, researching industry trends and creating graphics to support the presentation.

7.00 AM

I wake up and get ready for my day, typically making myself a smoothie to have either at home or during the commute to work.

8.30 AM

I aim to get into the office at around 8.30 am to check my emails and plan out my work for the day. I’ll review overnight market news. A group of us will usually go together to grab a takeaway coffee whether that be in the kitchen or from a nearby café.

9.00 AM

I’ll have a check-in meeting with either the broader General Industrials team or a smaller sub-group I’m currently working on materials with, to discuss ongoing deals, priorities for the day, and upcoming deadlines.

9.30 AM

Typically, I’ll begin by working on a financial model for a client, incorporating data from industry reports and financial statements. I’ll then conduct research on potential buyers or investors for a current client deal.

12.00 PM

Depending on meeting timings I tend to grab lunch at around this time each day. I either bring in lunch or go with some colleagues to grab a takeaway from a local food court or café. A group of us will sit in the break-out room to have lunch together which is always a refreshing break before we kick off the afternoon work.

1.00 PM

I work on a pitchbook for a potential client, researching industry trends and creating graphics to support the presentation. Some days, I’ll attend a meeting with a client and senior bankers to discuss the progress of an ongoing deal or the pitching of ideas.

3.00 PM

Around mid-afternoon, we usually grab a snack/coffee from the breakroom and have a chat.

4.00 PM

Meet with colleagues to discuss progress on ongoing projects and receive feedback for any changes to make on the current material working on. Whilst fresh in my head, I’ll immediately note down all comments and start checking off on the changes to be made as I finish them.

5.30 PM

A few of us a couple of times a week tend to go for a run around the harbour as our afternoon break and daily exercise. It’s a very scenic route and social time to chat with colleagues. Sometimes, I will go to the gym at this time to get some quick exercise in before dinner. Some weeks there are networking or industry events, which a few of us will attend during the week.

6.30 PM

My specific finish time varies depending on the workload, deal flow, and client demands. When I’m super busy and have upcoming deadlines I eat dinner in the office and then will finish off work with the people in my team. If we aren’t too busy we’ll take a break and eat together in the break room. If I go home for dinner, depending on my workload at the time, I’ll continue to work on a few changes at home, otherwise, I usually go to see some friends for dinner or eat with my housemates.
