Corporate Social Responsibility at Mastercard Australia

There are dedicated action plans that emphasize Mastercard's commitment to CSR. Each team has different initiatives focused on sustainability and CSR.

It's quite early days but I have participated in the Women's Leadership Network events to help develop women at MC and I know there has been a lot of sustainability initiatives/events run in the past and that are upcoming. Our ESG is actually linked to our bonuses which shows the companies commitment to it!

I haven't worked on CSR projects.

Working in the office's MC care team has been great, being able to connect with individuals that is like minded. We try to run as much engagement as possible, but due to lockdowns it has been difficult.

We donated $10MM USD to the covid relief fund We get 5 days per year to donate to a charity for volunteer work (You still get paid so it's almost like extra time away) They match 1-1 personal donations up to like 10,000 per employee per year.

Volunteering opportunities

Globally, we have the Inclusive Growth Score where we use our transactional data to help policy makers, city councils, and NGOs identify where households may be living below the poverty line or un/underbanked. This is most relevant to my line of business as we work with our data on a daily basis. We also have the Priceless Planet Coalition in which we are pledging to plant 100mn trees by 2025 in partnership with our clients - which we are working with a bank in Australia on. Locally, my team have used our volunteering days for opportunities such as supporting the Children's Hospital and most recently, cleaning up Sydney's waterways from microplastics.

Not across details, but various global initiatives that Mastercard drives that employees can be a part of and is a priority for the business.

My company has a whole platform devoted to CSR initiatives, and there is a general expectation that most colleagues will log a number of "volunteering" hours throughout the year.Additionally there are multiple BRGs/business resource groups to provide community initiative internally

The company greatly focuses on projects around inclusion and the environment due to the previous CEO's values and encourages customers to also be involved with what we are doing. Planting trees, donating money to charities (donation matching) and other social work.
