Management at Mastercard Australia

9.1
9.1 rating for Management, based on 24 reviews
How accessible are managers and do they make good mentors? You may want to address internal communication, performance feedback or praise and recognition.
Managers communicate well with the team especially on overarching strategies and roles and responsibilities. Performance feedback and career progression discussions occur regularly.

My manager has been incredibly supportive of me since day one! I have had great feedback on my performance and we check in weekly. We are exposed to other senior leaders through townhalls (company-wide presentations fortnightly) who all are very welcoming and friendly.

Yes, they are very supportive and look out for your career

Yes however you do always feel a bit at the bottom of the ladder. You'll get given the tasks they don't want to do or don't have time to do. But that is part of starting out. Some managers are better than others. I do feel I get recognised enough though

Great managers, provide feedback, monitor progress, communicate clearly.

My manager is great, can message him whenever and he would always respond. He would provide feedback when needed, and created a comfortable environment that if I want to voice any concerns it is welcomed.

My manager is a legend and I feel like he is very intelligent and giving me great career advice.

Managers are always accessible. Naturally, some care extremely about us and our growth - others less so. However, across the board, we are listened to and affect change were important. This includes introducing more team events within Data & Services to support culture and connection between team members. Feedback is a consistent process and in my experience, is always welcome up and down. I often have regular catchups with my team members for sharing candid feedback, but we also have formal 6-monthly feedback cycles for formal career progression discussions. Wins and recognition are encouraged - and we have a formal platform in place for recognising achievements with points that can be redeemed for items or gift cards.

Managers are incredibly accessible and find them to be good mentors. There is not a very rigid or coordinated feedback loop but managers are open to discussion and share feedback in an open environment.

Management at my company is impeccable. I have never felt intimidated or unable to ask questions or for help. When my direct line manager was on leave, every effort was made to pair me with a senior ranking staff member who made a lot of time for me, brought me into projects/opportunities beyond my role if I requested and taught me a lot. Very grateful for this kind of accessibility.

Managers are generally very accessible. Weekly/fortnightly 1-1 with manager is standard.

Internal communication is open; we have a strong feedback culture, including recognising achievement and providing constructive feedback.

My manager has a very hands-off approach which can be challenging when I need support from them. There hasn't been a lot of praise or recognition provided to me and performance feedback and improvement has been minimal, unless it's a required element of formal feedback. I don't believe I have a strong relationship with my manager as I feel like I always have to reach out and follow up with them and they don't often automatically reach out to ask how I'm going or see what help I need from them.

Company has a very flat hierarchy, hence managers and vice presidents are very accessible and always happy to help.

Managers are generally very accessible and supportive on the ground, absolutely no complaints with the Sydney office. Many frustrations with global leadership and their treatment of satellite offices.
Midlevel, Sydney
Managers are good. However, being a global organisation there are layers of bureaucracy which can be frustrating
