"The coolest thing about my job is that I can improve myself by learning from various people that I met."

What do you do at your job?

Payfazz as a part of Fazz Financial Group (FFG) is one of the biggest financial technology companies that provide financial services such as online transactions and digital payment. Payfazz uniquely runs the business focusing on agents, which also helps them by providing digital solutions for transactions in an easier and faster way. I’m delighted that I had the opportunity to be a part of this amazing company as an HR Intern, helping the Recruitment and Branding Team.

As an intern, I have a responsibility to handle the A - Z recruitment process, especially for tech intern positions. Hand in hand with other HR interns, I also have a chance to participate in branding activities, such as making interesting and engaging content at @lifeatfazz, preparing two bonding events for the interns of FFG, and arranging 1 on 1 session with interns from several divisions to follow up about their work-life in FFG. To be honest, all of them seem like a precious experience for me because working in HR has always been one of my goals. But, if you ask me which one is the most interesting, I would say that handling the A - Z recruitment process has a different space in my heart because it allows me to improve myself in the area that I don’t confident about, let say interviewing people

What's your background?

I was born in Jakarta but have lived in Depok for most of my life. I come from an ordinary family, my dad is an entrepreneur and my mom is a housewife. I have three siblings, and I am the first child in the family. Now, I am studying at Universitas Indonesia, majoring in Psychology. I got this opportunity because one of my fellows–who has already worked here as an HR intern, gave me the information that Payfazz is currently looking for more HR interns while we were chatting on Line about college assignments.

This friend of mine has already known that I was looking for HR intern opportunities. I was grateful that she did not hesitate to let me know as soon as she heard about that opportunity. I put in my application and I was fortunate to be chosen among other competent candidates. Until now, I’ve been working here for almost 3 months with a supportive and appreciative environment, consisting of people who are always open, considerate, and helpful.

Could someone with a different background do your job?

Ya, of course. This position can be held by someone with a different background as long as they have a curiosity and are willing to learn continuously. This position is best suited for a person that loves to connect and communicate with other people, is interested in assessing a candidate's potential, is detail-oriented, and has good time management skills.

What's the coolest thing about your job?

The coolest thing about my job is that I can improve myself by learning from various people that I met. I can say that 1 on 1 session is the task that I enjoy the most because it really gives me a chance to have insights from the interns in other divisions about how they solve problems, what they learn from the challenges they had, and many more. I love to meet new people, build connections, maintain relations and I think this position makes me able to do all of that

What is the minus of your job?

Sometimes, working in a dynamic environment makes me feel that I can’t do things at my best level because I used to need some time to be prepared. Right now I am still pursuing my education too which also has a very dynamic environment regarding task and group discussions. So, I need to be very agile and have the adaptability to time overlap and multitasking. But overall, I can enjoy everything that I do until now.

What suggestions you would like to give yourself?

Dear myself, please always remember to:

  1. Be tolerant, you don’t have to always push yourself too hard. Slight progress is still progress, and you don’t need to feel disappointed about that.
  2. Be strong, life will always give you tons of lemons. Don’t forget that you can choose to make lemonades from it.
  3. Be grateful, for everything that you passed, you do, and you have.
