Tenille Riordan

I love that my role in Signify is so dynamic. In one day, I can do so many different things from product specs and margins to something creative like planning a campaign with a great punchline and some nice imagery. I get to work with interesting people across the Signify business and the world.

6.00 AM

Got up, fed the dogs made coffee yum! Time to enjoy a bit of Netflix while I drink my coffee and a snuggle with the dogs before getting ready for an office day. Getting ready for office days means make-up and taming my hair along with corporate attire (no PJ bottoms on office days) and a quick check of my work calendar for today before getting ready.

7.30 AM

I’m dressed, lunch packed and I’m leaving the house, chatting to my friend on the phone for the drive to the office.

7.50 AM

Arrive at the office, early arrival grants you lots of parking choices and some quiet time to get things organised for the day. After debriefing the weekend’s events with some other early arriving co-workers it’s time for emails. I reply to what I can urgently and flag the rest on the to-do list.

8.40 AM

My co-worker Mike arrives which means coffee number 2. We walk over to the café and have a chat about the weekend just gone and the week ahead.

9.00 AM

I’m back at my desk, I have a meeting with a Business Group in China later in the day to prepare for. This means putting together all the product launches we have in progress and what support we need as a local market to execute a successful launch, reviewing timelines. As well as putting together a business case for a new product we want to launch later in the year.

10.00 AM

A meeting with digital marketing to go through some landing page updates for our UV-C products and check in on our ongoing social media campaign. This is a weekly meeting, we are highlighting some local projects and working with customers, so we need regular check-ins to make sure we are on the same page.

11.00 AM

I finalise a promotion for a wholesale branch I’ve been putting together for one of our Key Account Managers in Queensland, I get the artwork from our creative agency and pass it on for printing. Job done at last!

12.00 PM

It's time for lunch! I usually bring lunch from home, so I eat somewhat healthy during the week. I eat lunch with another four ladies, we all do different jobs at Signify but like to eat outside in the sun together. Through our conversation today I realise I’m the only one at the table that doesn’t speak a second language, I love hearing about other people’s backgrounds and cultures so it’s hard to end the lunch break I could happily stay and chat all day.

12.40 PM

It's time to get to those unanswered emails, I have purchase orders to submit for some recent printing, some requests for some technical product details, and need to Finalise some packaging for some new products.

1.30 PM

Meeting with a Business Group in China and NZ, we try to align with NZ on product launches where possible as our market needs are similar, and it streamlines the process a little as well as gets the customers a better price by combining volumes.

2.30 PM

Meeting over, I pack up and head home for the afternoon, I have a meeting later in the evening so want to get a few things done.

3.00 PM

Walk the dogs and get dinner prepared.

4.15 PM

I log back in for a 4.30 meeting with the segment manager for UV-C and the Australian Commercial team, we have a monthly check-in where we report on how things are tracking with our sales, marketing activity and UV-C customers. In this meeting we can request any additional support we might need from Head office. Today we have asked if we can have a case study from Germany shared with us for a local opportunity one of our customers has

5.30 PM

I call my mum and chat and catch up on what’s happening with the family back home.

6.30 PM

I call into a meeting run by the Global Marketing team based at our Head Office in the Netherlands. These meetings are great, they show us all the upcoming marketing campaigns being developed and share the source file locations so we can have the files localised if they are relevant to our market. We also get to see other markets from around the world present what they are doing. I don’t have to have my camera on as there are a few hundred people on the call, so I eat dinner while I watch.

That’s a wrap!
