We're in the due diligence phase of a deal that we've been working on, so I'm preparing the Legal Due Diligence Report.

I like to “do the rounds” when I get in and say hello to everyone–definitely an advantage of working in a smaller office is that you have pretty close relationships with the entire team, from paralegals up to partners.

Adam Pauling studied Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Mathematics at the University of Canterbury and is now a Junior Analyst Developer at FNZ.

Adrian Hoffman studied a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) (Hons) at The University of Adelaide and is now an Ag Achiever graduate at Rural Bank.

I’ve recently completed training for the AZ-400 course and have been using my time in the afternoon to complete practice quizzes and Udemy tutorials – a great opportunity for development while being at work!

The Grad Gig is a group project among the grads that runs alongside our rotations. Our instructions for the project were to develop a deliverable that builds members' financial confidence.

Tasks like this are time consuming, but rewarding.  I even get a “great work” email from the Senior Associate I am helping.

The opportunity to do pro bono work and help vulnerable members of the community is a really rewarding part of my role at Ashurst, so I always make sure to put my hand up to help out when I have the capacity.
