The best thing about my job is being able to help clients understand data and implement strategies to make their business better.

I work at an actuarial and data analytics consulting firm. Our work is project-based and our clients consist of insurers, reinsurers, Government agencies and corporates.

Daily work is quite varied – clients can range from large self-insurers to overseas insurance start-ups to local listed insurers.

In my role as an analyst, I spend most of my time doing the maths. This includes processing and manipulating data and updating and building models.

As an analyst, my role predominately involves undertaking research, performing financial analysis, preparing presentations and building financial models.

As an analyst in the Investment Bank, I crunch the numbers supporting the big ideas and transformative transactions that our clients are undertaking.

As an actuarial analyst, I spend a large part of my time in data cleansing and processing, drawing high-level insights from the data, and updating models.
