Adam Pauling studied Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Mathematics at the University of Canterbury and is now a Junior Analyst Developer at FNZ.

Project Management requires good organisation skills and the ability to prioritise tasks according to their requirements.

I’ve recently completed training for the AZ-400 course and have been using my time in the afternoon to complete practice quizzes and Udemy tutorials – a great opportunity for development while being at work!

Since it will be challenging to remember the things we did over the previous days or months, so keeping a record of site activities is a good habit to get into.

As it is nearing the end of the month, I am sitting with my manager to go over the monthly expenses for all Waka Kotahi disposal jobs in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions and establish budgets for the following month. This is an exciting job to do as it allows me to get an overview of all the current projects and understand the financial side of the work that I do.

I continue to work on assigned projects... I will check in with the team about the progress of the pack and see if there is anything to be added to improve the messaging.

We cover off the themes in the market, what’s causing moves and any upcoming announcements that we need to keep an eye on. It’s super important that we have an understanding of this because it could impact our day.

My role is to clearly define any design clarifications to the crew as well as ensure that the correct steel sections with the correct lengths/dimensions are installed at the appropriate locations.
