I thought about being a pilot, or an air traffic controller, but it was the ever-changing nature and challenges of the engineering profession that drew me in.

My favourite aspect of my current job is weight and balance. Previously, I have only worked on small planes in regards to this, so to try out my skills on an aircraft ten times bigger? Bring it on!

As a permanent employee of Nova, we also have lots of social events to promote a healthy work-life balance and enable networking with people from other business areas at Nova.

I really love the social and people aspect of Nova. So not only has it been amazing that I could join the social committee and help run social and charitable events such as the biggest morning tea bake-off, but I also got the opportunity to help with the work experience and graduate program.

You can't just bolt anything to a plane.  As an Aerospace engineer, you need to ensure that what you design conforms to the relevant regulations and safety standards.

There’s no better feeling than being given a complicated task and you can go away, work on it, and then come back with a working model that passes all the tests. I always liken it to solving puzzles, every task has a solution and my role is to simply find it.

I enjoy the analytical and problem-solving aspects of the job. Drawing up the designs, running the models and crunching the numbers.

The tasks I enjoy most are those that are both critical to the systems and may involve significant learning on the job, as they often can be best in broadening my experience.
