The reconfiguration work begins. All physical work at Transpower’s sites is done by contracted service providers. Transpower’s service providers have a depth of technical and practical experience. It’s great learning from them.

I am the investment owner for several local transformer and switchgear replacements, so I need to confirm some scopes of works and iron out some design details before requesting for funds to be released.

Chris Johnson studied ​a ​Mechanical Engineering/Commerce (Finance) ​at University of New South Wales in 2017, and is now a Junior Project Engineer at Schneider Electric.

Jamuna Sharma Dhakal studied Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering at the Auckland University of Technology and is now a Graduate Engineer at Powerco.

Today we discussed the vector group and phase shifting as one my other projects involve exploring the idea of using phase shift transformers to tie two 11kV networks operating 30 degrees apart.

The Powerco office in New Plymouth is in a nice section of native bush, and commonly on nice days you will see groups of people walking around the perimeter of the office.

Transpower offers great development courses as part of its graduate programme. I’m working through tasks in a self-leadership course. We are allocated an hour of work time each week to commit to our development.

I like to get to work early as it means I can leave early and have more time to do the things I love after work! I generally get in the office around this time and go through my emails while I eat my breakfast- which is my overnight oats.
