Don’t focus too much on grades – as much as you need decent grades, take time to learn and practice people skills because, in the end, those will take you a lot further in your career.

My daily goal is to maintain safety, high-quality products to ensure customers receive premium Colorsteel

A large part of my role is going to customer sites and running tests that provide information on how the process is running and how the chemicals are performing in the processes.

The programme gives you the chance to try so many different roles that you wouldn’t get to normally do.

I find it inspiring being a small part of something bigger, and empowering —individual contributions can have an out-sized impact when they have the leverage of the company behind them.

Bravely try new things. To accumulate experience in continuous attempts. Never be afraid and resist new things, because most likely you will have fun and find satisfaction in them.

The locals I met during the village visits and about the town we lived in gave me such a different understanding of the world – it was a great contrast to my suburban life and really grounded me in reality.
