A high effort grade is more important than an A+.

Anything from international negotiations, running seminars, inputting into policy, writing briefings, creating databases and analytical tools, being part of committees and consultation meetings – it’s all so diverse and this is the part of my job I love the most.

The easiest path may not always be the most exciting. If you’re fortunate enough to have free electives, make them count!

The tasks that I undertake and the projects I have been given, have given me a real chance to challenge myself and prove my abilities.

Don’t discount your other work experiences that aren’t corporate-based – focus on the skills they’ve given you instead, these soft skills are always transferrable and relevant.

When you think about the prospects of international assignments and rotation into other CIMIC Group operating companies, the possibilities are endless for someone starting their career with Sedgman.
