I find that I always learn a lot just from listening to what the advice for the client is, plus it is nice to put a face to the name!

Today that involves issuing statutory demands and letters of demand on, respectively, companies and individuals. I go through the various loan agreements and make a note of what documents need to be served.

This afternoon, I am tasked with drafting a statutory declaration in support of the registration of our client's trade mark on the basis that it has been used by our client for over 20 years, during which time it has acquired distinctive character and is well-recognised as a trade mark in the marketplace.

This work is really interesting, but requires a bit of focus. I head to the high table and get stuck in. The view’s not bad either!

Settle into drafting 10’s of documents, this part of the day I find the most relaxing and satisfying.

I have been working on this amalgamation since I started as a graduate and saw it from the beginning until the end which has been a challenging yet rewarding experience.

Back to my desk. I am working on a due diligence report. Our client is an overseas company and they want to make an offer on investment in NZ. The report outlines key things they need to be aware of when considering their offer, including Overseas Investment Office concerns.

Balancing an active lifestyle with a dynamic workday, I start my mornings with a refreshing run, energized by the early sunrise.
