The beauty of consulting is that every time you start a new project in a new industry, everyone starts from zero. This means we have a variety of backgrounds, and everyone is supported through formal and informal learning.

Being a full-time working parent is a daily juggling act. However, working in a firm that promotes flexibility and work-life balance has greatly helped me with not only the advancement in my career but to also raise two children.

The company greatly values the courage to speak up and the creativity of different ideas, placing importance on giving its people the confidence they need to flourish within the business – regardless of where you sit on the scale of a graduate to a director!

I think being a woman in a male-dominated arena is always a challenge – especially when it is largely relationship based and it at times feels like it will always be that way. Part of the challenge is dealing with this but still being authentic, i.e. work with “the boys” and earning their respect as an equal rather than trying to be something you are not.

Despite my background being in engineering, I chose to go into consulting because I wanted a role that really gave me the opportunity to interact with and learn from others.
