I’ve travelled to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for training and to rural parts of Australia to work on ESP equipment. I’ve met people from different parts of the world and learnt about different cultures I wouldn’t have experienced otherwise.

As a protégé developer, there is a lot of responsibility to be self-organised and make sure you’re making the most out of the opportunity.

By completing my internship at Honeywell, this fast-tracked the pathway for me to apply for the Graduate Program as I already had experience with the company.

Diversify yourself and allow personal experimentation and flexibility. Refuse to conform to stereotypes or expectations: go against the grain and be unique.

I’m currently working in the Public Sector industry where DXC supports critical applications for several large government agencies. Here I am given a front row seat to witness the positive impact DXC has on our customers and the wider New Zealand Community.

Keep in mind that it is also about working with people, so for you to be successful in your journey, make sure you also learn people skills.

It is cool being given responsibility for developing features within a large existing code base and being exposed to a range of tools that I probably wouldn’t have come across on my own.

Always be learning, technology is always changing, and always changing very fast. Your ability to learn quickly will allow you to grasp concepts and ways of working, which in turn will make you a more effective employee.
