If you crave excitement, then trading is a great job for you. A trader’s day is dictated by news events happening in the world, and what other market participants trade against us each day – we never really know what is going to unfold.

Every day is a genuinely new and interesting challenge, much more so than I’d ever anticipated. 

I didn’t know anybody in the trading industry, and it was a completely new world from engineering and maths. I was very fortunate to receive guidance and support from some excellent leaders in the firm.

IMC invests really heavily in training its people and gives them a lot of responsibility and the power to take ownership over areas that interest them.

I love getting to see some of the more niche maths I learned at university have a direct measurable application to a ‘real world problem’.
