Being a Science major, almost all of the technical things I worked on were new to me. Kami has some really dedicated and kind employees who are ready to help whenever you’re stuck or have questions.

The types of tasks I enjoy the most are when I’m collaborating with clients to achieve great outcomes, the best feeling is getting a resource consent granted with minimal further requests of information from council.

Ashleigh Cockburn studied a Bachelor of Social Science at the University of Waikato and is now a Policy & Programs Officer at ACT Government.

One of the important things is to understand the way people and environments interconnect and to have the willingness to learn.

I have learned about the immense breadth and scale of KiwiRail and its contribution to New Zealand and how ‘small’ initiatives can have an extensive impact.

The IT Development team at MECCA hugely advocates for trying new things, and as technology changes so quickly, there is always something new to learn.

Aspects of internal business processes are things that my degree has given me background on, so I have supplemented my role, but it’s been more of a learning experience so far.
