The Quess Corp Ltd story

Quess Corp, which is a subsidiary of Fairfax Financial Holdings Group, was founded in 2007. Since its establishment, the company serves 2,300 worldwide clients and employs over 318,000 individuals across multiple countries. The company earns a tidy annual profit between USD 2 and 5 billion.

The recruitment process

The recruitment process with Quess is relatively simple—apply through their website (or ours) and wait for a call! The interview process is widely variable depending on what position you’re aiming for. However, for the most part, you can expect three interviews with different members of the company. The first interview will most likely be a group interview, sometimes with a rather large group of prospective candidates (100+). The second interview is generally a technical-based interview, where they’ll ask you questions related to your field of interest. The final interview is with an HR representative who will ask cultural and behavioural-fit questions.

The overall process generally takes up to two weeks, but on some rare occasions, you’ll receive a decision by the next day.

Career prospects

With five different sectors to choose from, the career prospects at Quess Corp Ltd are quite abundant. Have an interest in Human Resources? Become a consultant or HR Manager. Have a degree in finance? Shoot for a senior finance manager position. Career opportunities within their multiple branches are vast, with positions almost always available in every sector. However, while positions are regularly available, they don’t always pay very well.

Additionally, the sheer volume of individuals they interview for certain positions inevitably suggests a disconnect between management and employees. Because of this, management is often prone to overlook employees who are exceeding expectations. This isn’t the norm within the company, as many employees are duly rewarded for their efforts, but it has happened enough times to be noted by past employees.

Remuneration

Remuneration with Quess Corp is reportedly highly variable and circumstantial based on location and position. Keep in mind some jobs do pay less than other companies with similar openings. For example, a network engineer can expect to earn an average of INR 525,000 (USD 7,314) annually, which is significantly lower than the standard. Other positions do pay competitive wages, though. A business analyst with Quess earns between INR 679,000 and 737,000 (USD 9,460 and 10,267), while a vice president of sales can earn up to INR 3.6m (USD 50,154) annually.

The culture

The most noteworthy aspect of Quess Corp is a pleasant workplace environment. The company has managed to maintain a stable and consistent workplace experience—for the most part. While both the employees and management are generally friendly, hard work can reportedly be overlooked, which can sometimes be reflected in the workplace culture.

Social contributions

Quess Corp makes social contributions through its Careworks Foundation (CWF). CWF is a non-profit branch of the company that aims to ‘contribute to the welfare of the community and create a positive impact in the lives of people.’ Their School Enhancement Programme, which encourages children to attend classes and strengthen their learning, reaches 30 schools, 6,000 children, and 200 teachers altogether. They also contribute to these schools by covering health expenses for low-income families—they’ve covered the cost of major dental health procedures for over 2,000 children.

General vibe of the place

The general vibe of Quess Corp? A friendly environment that’s generally conducive to progress and advancement. The company is massive, so career options are often abundant. However, with such a large employee base, management tends to drop the ball on recognising talent. The company does have its strong points, but it also has a bit of a ‘too corporate’ feel at times.
