My suggestion to new grads would be to have patience and keep learning and experimenting. According to me, exploration and experimentation are the best ways to learn something.

Generally, some proficiency in mathematics and programming will be useful, but no prior experience in financial markets is required.

Daily work is quite varied – clients can range from large self-insurers to overseas insurance start-ups to local listed insurers.

The diversity in the systems and processes that I get to observe and interact with, for someone who is passionate about computer sciences and technology it truly is marvelous to see how various functions of the business get fed by the different systems all working in unison.

The work that we do can be likened to being a Chef – a Chef takes unappetising raw ingredients and adds the magic that turns the dish into something delicious!
