I like that my job provides me with the opportunity to learn. While that is somewhat cliché, it is what keeps it interesting.

Enjoy your time as a student, it doesn’t last forever. Looking back at it now it was a great part of my life.

Getting the space to collaborate with others gives me energy, and receiving positive feedback drives me - Contact always provides both.

The programme gives you the chance to try so many different roles that you wouldn’t get to normally do.

One thing that drew me to applying for the graduate programme at Contact is that they offer specialised work in some very unique places. For me, the ability to live in Central Otago on the Clutha River comes with the benefits of skiing, biking, surfing, hiking, all in some very sweet scenery. 

My favourite thing about the job is being able to see all the hard work, planning and decisions you make manifest in a physical way. 6 months ago I was sitting in a room looking at plans of the noise walls and now I get to walk past the finished product. There is nothing cooler than that.

Both internships gave me totally different experiences and allowed me to see first-hand the broad range of opportunities that Downer has to offer. These internships were my first experiences working in the construction industry.
