Disability Support at Foodstuffs North Island

Our goal is to support and improve the lives of all New Zealander's living with disabilities.

24% of New Zealanders have identified as having a disability or impairment. 80% of these are hidden.

Foodies employ over 24,000 people across the Support Centre and our store network, which means we could support and improve the lives of up to 6,000 employees. We have an employee network (our Accessibility Tribe) who drive initiatives and raise awareness in this space.

We have a partnership with Be. Lab, who work towards supporting New Zealand businesses in becoming 100% accessible. We work together with them to make sure our spaces are accessible and to provide opportunities through our internship programme to help those who may face challenges when applying for roles due to any access needs, visible or hidden.

We're working towards a partnership with the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Initiative and currently piloting this in some of our stores.
